Technology: Standardization and Reference Architecture
Service Coordinators
Dr. John Domingue, KMI, Open University, UK
Dr. Michal Zaremba, University of Innsbruck, AT
With this service we will endeavor to help co-ordinate and facilitate initiatives for the standardization of research practices and emergent technology, as well as the creation of reference architectures for academic and industrial communities interested in the Semantic Web.
The motivations underlying this initiative include:
- Establishing a communication channel with W3C, OASIS and OMG to foster standardization efforts related to research results delivered in semantic space area
- Facilitating communication across the various projects and initiatives that we are all involved in
- Gaining leverage and impact by combining efforts
- Minimizing inefficiency caused by the unnecessary duplication of work
- Providing relevant know-how and to help colleagues with less experience, either in the Semantic Web field or with the activities and processes involved in the standardization and production of reference architectures
