STI Research will provide support activities for the STI community to ensure the relevance and high impact of their research activities (e.g. assisting to apply basic research outcomes in practice through acquisition and management of projects).

Our aim is to further stimulate wider research, innovation and enterprise uptake through project support. We will act as a mediator of semantic technology research and results to the wider research community, communicating to the community the latest developments, trends and funding opportunities in semantics. The concrete outcome will be better proposal preparation by the semantic technology research community, leading to successful project acquisition. STI Consultancy and Research will benefit directly as a member of the project consortia, including the role of project administrative and financial manager. This objective will be achieved by activities such as:

• Workshop organization and matchmaking of interested parties for research collaborations, especially in project consortia;
• Provision of services associated with proposal set up, preparation, writing, consultancy on funding programs;
• Provision of project management services: ranging from financial services/accounting to project support in "standard" activities, such as collaboration infrastructure support, website set up and running, dissemination activities (could be later spun-off as a separate company);
• Provision of a support infrastructure for cross-organisation collaboration, as well as knowledge and resource sharing, which will serve the proposal and project management activities.
