Future Internet

The Future Internet is the European research initiative for developing the Internet of the future. The Web has become the central communication infrastructure for today's business and society, and it is expected that its size and importance will expand even more in the coming years and decades. Supported by a prominent consortium, the aim is to define the research and funding program of the European Commission for meeting the challenges on tomorrow’s Internet technology.

STI International is involved in the Future Internet initiative via associated research projects and organizes the Future Internet Symposium (FIS 2008).

NESSI

The Networked European Software and Services Initiative (NESSI) is the European Technology Platform dedicated to Software and Services. The aim is to coordinate research and development activities on service-oriented technology within Europe by defining a framework and reference architectures for Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA). STI International is a member of NESSI, contributing to the specification and development of semantically enabled SOA technology. The NESSI reference architecture is developed in the NEXOF project.

OASIS SEE

The OASIS Semantic Execution Environment (SEE) Technical Committee develops a reference architecture for semantically enabled SOA technologies. The aim is to better support and automate the interaction and interoperation of clients and service providers by employing semantic techniques for discovery, negotiation, selection, composition, mediation, and invocation of Web Services. For this, the TC develops a generic and extensible software architecture framework.
