This service coordinates the joint standardization strategy for STI International research efforts and the development of reference architectures for semantic technologies.

The aim is to strengthen the impact of the STI International research results. Apart from scientific results and publications, a critical success factor for the broad adaptation of new technologies is the admission of official technology standards by internationally acknowledged standardization bodies. STI International actively supports this process for novel developments on semantic technologies by coordinating the research work and, in particular, the submission of the central results and the participation of STI members in the respective working groups of the relevant standardization bodies. In addition, the service drives the development of open-source reference architectures as the basis for software and application development with semantic technologies.
