The Internet world as we know it today has undergone far-reaching and profound changes since it has become a critical communications infrastructure underpinning our economic performance and social welfare. With an estimate of 1.1 billion fixed users and over 3 billion mobile users world-wide already, the Internet of tomorrow is poised to become a fully pervasive infrastructure providing anywhere, anytime broadband connectivity. [1]
Computer Science in the 20th century was about perfect solutions in closed domains and applications. Computer Science in the 21st century will be about approximate solutions and means to capture the relationships between partial solutions and user requirements in terms of computational costs, ensuring a proper balance of their ratio, applicable in environments such as the Internet of the tomorrow. Semantics will provide the theoretical and technological framework for properly addressing this challenge. The primary aim of the OCG Forum Semantic Systems 2009 is to bring together researchers, industry practitioners and decision makers to analyze the current state of play in the area of semantics and discuss its role in the global context of the ICT developments of the last years. A second aim of the event is to identify the instruments necessary to maximize the impact that semantic technologies can potentially have in the realization of the future Internet and to position Austrian R and D in this market at the European and international level. The forum will be organized as a full-day event consisting of several sessions: invited talks by national and international key players, panel discussions, and poster presentations and demonstrations. It will be held on March, 4 2009 in Vienna.

CALL FOR POSTER AND DEMONSTRATIONS
The OCG Forum Semantic Systems 2009 gives early adopters of semantic technologies and researchers in the area the opportunity to present their latest achievements to the interested national and international audience in a poster and demonstration session. We invite the Austria semantic technology community to actively participate in this session through submissions of posters and demonstrations. Submissions (for both posters and demonstrations) should be in form of a 1-2 pages long paper (Word or PDF), including the authors and their affiliation, and a short summary of the work to be presented. They should be sent per email to Elena Simperl, STI Innsbruck at

no later than February, 10 2009. The submissions will be published in a Forum Semantic Systems brochure, which will be distributed to the audience and to additional events of the forum.
