Today, IRT released the Broadcast Metadata Exchange Format (BMF) 2.0 Beta. BMF is a metadata model which covers all metadata in the life-cycle of a TV production and is intended to be used as an exchange model by systems that are interchanging metadata in different steps of the TV production process to increase the interoperability.
In NoTube, BMF serves as interface format for further external broadcast sources (see the TV Metadata Interoperability pages for more information). Requirements coming from NoTube have been considered in BMF 2.0, namely the support of links to external sources and descriptive metadata for annotation of audio and video segments.
You can download the BMF-XML schema for evaluation and testing at http://bmf.irt.de/. IRT is glad to receive your feedback by October 15th, 2011.
