Funding for European-based Students to Attend RuSSIR 2013

The European Science Foundation ESF has made funding available through the ELIAS network administered by The Open University, UK, to support student attendance at the Russian Summer School in Information Retrieval (RuSSIR 2013), Kazan, 16-20 September 2013.

In order to be considered, students who are based in Europe (particularly the countries that support ELIAS, ie, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) should submit a short application with 

  • one paragraph the benefit you hope to gain from attending RuSSIR 2013
  • requested support for travel and accommodation (max 800 Euro out of which max 500 Euro for travel)
  • the e-mail address of your main academic supervisor, who we will ask to support your case

to Stefan Rueger (stefan.rueger@open.ac.uk) by 9 August 2013.

Applications will be decided based on scientific merit by the Programme Co-chairs of RuSSIR 2013. Successful applicants will receive the agreed amount of funding after the Summer School on production of original receipts and a short (1 page) report on the benefits of the Summer School for the student.
