STI Innsbruck 2 seekda is a spin-off of the University of Innsbruck, Semantic Technology Institute (STI) Innsbruck. seekda is built upon the results of the European Union funded project DIP (flagship project of the EU Framework 6th Program) and Austrian FIT-IT project RW2 (funded by BMVIT and FFG). seekda is supported by the Center for Academic Spin-offs Tyrol (CAST) and the Austrian Economic Service (AWS).
seekda's mission is to facilitate on-demand use of services over the Web. As a first step we are operating a search engine providing access to publicly available Web Services. seekda will simplify purchases across different providers and unify the use of services in bundles.
The current Web Service market is far from transparent. Service consumers have to spend extensive resources to locate and procure services. seekda's products improve the transparency and accessibility of the Web Service market. We have developed automatic means to identify Web Services (on the Web) and have devised algorithms to enable users to find appropriate services for a given task efficiently. By pre-filtering the Web content and indexing service specific features, we present the largest set of Web Services known and make comparison easier through a unified presentation.
