What We Offer
STI education provides the following products and services to STI-affiliated institutions as well as to other interested parties:
- We produce learning resources and training materials (slide sets, brochures) for specific target communities. These training materials can be used in line with specific license conditions by STI members or external parties.
- We develop and maintain training repositories and expert databases, which provide the infrastructure required for training provision. Again, STI members or external parties can access this infrastructure according to a commonly agreed license model.
- We organize different types of training and educational events. Organization includes administrative support, event management, but also the provision of the training with the help of STI experts.
- We define and provide operational support for the implementation of joint doctoral and exchange/internship programs between research institutions and between researchers and industry.
- We define and provide operational support for the implementation of shared Master programs between academic institutions.
- We set up a European certificate for semantic technologies.
STI International brings together academic institutions and early industrial adopters which have been actively contributing to the most important achievements in the field of Semantic Web and Semantic Web Services in the last years. Experts affiliated to these member institutions bring in the expertise required to implement an education program of this magnitude. Further on, STI International has already reached a critical mass of members with a strong track record in the training sector, as well as the most important industrial adopters of semantic technologies. This is of crucial value for ensuring a wide acceptance of the proposed activities (particularly worth being noticed for fields of activities to be undertaken at European or even international level such as the Master/PhD programs or the certification program) and for having a significant impact on the training market in the field.
