Saltlux Inc.

Being established in 1979 and renovated in 2003, Saltlux Inc. is the true value innovation partner that supplies complete, integrated services and total solutions based on next generation information retrieval, mining and semantic technologies.
Saltlux is actively working in 3 main businesses in ubiquitous computing, intelligent web based on semantic technologies and search 2.0 with [IN2]Platform which is service-oriented intelligent search platform using semantics and mining.
SALTLUX PROJECTS
International Project: Super Project funded by FP6
SUPER (Semantics Utilized for Process management within and between EnterpRises) is the integrated project supported by the European Union in the 6th Framework Program. Working in collaboration with 19 partners from the industry and academia, Saltlux is the only Asian institute to join the consortium and will be attempting to make a quantum leap in business process management by improving modeling and managing of business processes. This will be achieved by integrating and utilizing semantics for business process management.
The SUPER project aims to:
-
Close the gap between the business layer, which describes how the business works, and the technical layer, which describes how the applications work.
-
Improve business process management tasks and activities.
-
Ease enterprise application integration tasks.
-
Provide operational tools for (semantic) web service mediation and composition.
International Project: LarKC Project funded by FP7
LarKC (the Large Knowledge Collider) is the consortium project with the participation of Saltlux, WHO, Siemens, CYCORP, UIBK, University of Sheffield, AstraZeneca and other world renowned institutions under the contribution of distinguished research scholars in the world including but not limited to Drs/Profs Frank Van Harmelen, Dieter Fensel and Hamish Cunningham. It is forecasted that the innovative technological basis for the next generation intellectual mobile service system and the bio-medical research will be completed by the time of project ended. Saltlux’s role in this project is to create use cases through utilization of Saltlux's semantic product, [IN2]SOR with reasoning engine.
Domestic Project: KTF NICE Project
Saltlux has been progressing "NICE (Next Intelligence Content dElivery) Project" with KTF (Korea Telecom Freetel, 2nd Biggest Mobile Telecom Company in Korea) for 2 years since August, 2007. This project is for developing intelligent and customized content creation and delivery system based on IMS under wire/wireless environment using ontology-based reasoning and mining technology. This project is to build intelligent mobile service infra based on user and their status information and to consider the future service and secure processing for mass data.
Domestic Project: National Archives of Korea Project
Saltlux has been progressing "Integrated Search System" with National Archives of Korea. This project is to supply the integrated information release and connection system for current and past national archives.
We built 'standardization and management system' for national archives MDR (MetaData Registry) system and 'web 2.0-based customized information search service' with national archives integrated search system. Saltlux is now planning to supply meaning-based search service with ontology-based MDR. For the integrated search system for national archives based on ontology, we are using [IN2]SOR (Semantic Object Retrieval) framework which is our main product made of semantic technology and Allegro Graph which is a mass triple storage and relation-based reasoning, OntoBroker which is a rule-based reasoning.
Domestic Project: KERIS Project
Saltlux has completed "Meaning-based Semantic Search System" using [IN2]SOR, [IN2]Semano (Semantic Annotation), OntoStudio with KERIS (Korea Education & Research Information Service) from April to November in 2006. The construction of ontology improved the utilization of knowledge resources because it enabled users to understand the horizontal relationships as well as the vertical relationships of the knowledge resources. This allowed a wider range of knowledge and information search and removed the vagueness of meaning. Furthermore, the next-generation web environment, semantic web-based environment significantly improved the user accessibility to knowledge.
Domestic Project: KAIST CoreOnto Project
Saltlux has been progressing "National IT Ontology Infrastructure Technology Development Project" with KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) from March of 2006 and will be continued to February of 2011 for 5 years. We are now developing ontology-based ubiquitous service broker for this project and our purpose is to build IT core ontology, IT device ontology, IT service ontology, IT life ontology and so on. For this project, we are also developing real time reasoning engine based on ontology with OWL, SWRL and ontology instance software and intelligent commercial service.
