Information Management Unit
The Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) is a non-profit private law body associated with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. ICCS was established in 1989 by the Ministry of Education of Greece in order to promote research and development activity in all diverse aspects of computer and telecommunications systems and their applications.
The active research personnel of ICCS comprises of 80 faculty members, 25 senior researchers and more than 150 researchers.
The research unit of ICCS involved in STI2 is the Information Management Unit (IMU, http://www.imu.iccs.gr/). IMU is a multi-disciplinary unit engaged in research and development activities which focus on the development of knowledge-driven organisations. Since its establishment in 1997 IMU has actively contributed in more than twenty five research and technology development projects in the areas of knowledge management, semantic technologies and social computing.
