MobileTV scenario description (Yoovis)
Finally, mobile phone users are travelling across Austria and are interested in getting informa-tion about their locality in the most intuitive and interesting way possible. A yoovis.tv based mobile app delivers videos based on the user’s location (GPS), profile (personalisation) and context, i.e. based on intelligent data mash-ups the app will highlight videos about events and activities most relevant to the user in that moment. For example, visiting a ski region during the ski season would lead to more ski-ing related content while out of season the content may focus more on mountain hiking or discovering nature (birdwatching etc.). In the morning, museums and daytime festivals may be chosen; in the evening, content may focus more on bars and clubs. By including interactive buttons or video regions on screen, the user can also easily and intui-tively access related Web content in a dynamic manner just as in the previous two scenarios.
Furthermore, the application could support the direct uploading of user content (photos and videos from the bar, for example) to social networks with the use of specific tags or additional metadata such that this user generated content would be likely included in the augmentation of video content relating to that place. For example, an evening viewer at the hotel (appli-cation 2 above) browsing content about a local club just shown in the video channel might be able to view the most recently uploaded photos by users of this application. We will consider iPhone/iPad and Android as the principle development platforms for this ap-plication.
