STI International invites organizations from all over the world to become a contributing member of the association. In order to support different levels of involvement, STI International differentiates between full, associate, sponsoring members and members of honor.

Full Membership
Full members are institutions, organizations, or commercial companies that want to actively participate in STI International. The privileges of full members are:
- Access to STI International Services (free of charge)
- Access to working groups, creation of a new working group
- Full promotional benefits
- Possibility to attend STI International assemblies with full voting rights

Associate Membership
Institutions / Companies that want to participate in STI International with limited access to services and no voting rights. The privileges of associate members are as follows:
- Access to STI International Services
- Access to working groups, but not eligible to create a new working group
- Limited promotional benefits
- Possibility to attend STI International assemblies, but not eligible to vote
- Access to results of working groups
- Limited discount benefits at STI International events

STI Fellowship
An STI Fellowship position is intended for individual leaders who are most able and passionate in realizing STI's mission of making semantics a pillar or modern computing. STI Fellowships honor and recognize the influence of an individual and their contributions to the field of Semantic Technologies, in areas such as the Semantic Web, the Future Internet, and all core areas of computer science. STI Fellows are encouraged to participate, at their option, in any and all STI activities, providing advice and guidance as they wish. The privileges of Fellowship Members are as follows:
- Access to STI International Services, including working group activities
- Access to STI International events, such as the Service Convent, Symposium, and General Assembly, as well as supported conferences, workshops, and other events
