It's not "yet another techie blog."
If you're looking for the technical meat, Become a Full Member and take advantage of the STI Member Services, particularly the technology and research services.

It's also not "yet another R&D project blog."
The STI Blog overcomes the following limitations of blogs and discussion forums supported by R&D projects:

• Often restricted to consortium partner input
• Rarely viewed by an external audience, thereby their potential impact is inherently limited
• Terminated with the termination of the project

Second to overcoming these limitations, the STI Blog:

• Provides an up-to-date, analytical synopsis and fair presentation of the most controversial topics and developments of semantic technologies. One specific point of derivation would be a comparison to the W3C Semantic Web Activity coordination group: alternatively, the STI Community focuses on the broader application of Semantics to all IT domains, and places a stronger emphasis on industrial use cases and practical applications (meeting the requirements of actual end-users and exploiters)
• Normalizes the integrated views and perspectives of both academic and industrial contributors, including developers, end-users, and exploiters
• Ensures the direct uptake and integration of collaborative decisions reached and derived from discussion threads motivated by blog entries into the content published under the Research and Technology services provided to the STI Members.
